Carl V. Adams, age 91, of the Upjohn Nursing Home, 2400 Portage Street, Kalamazoo, and formerly of Rt. 1, Schoolcraft passed away Wednesday morning, October 25, 1989 after a long illness.
Mr. Adams was born February 14, 1898 in Porter Township, Van Buren County, the son of Archie L. and Lillie (Douglas) Adams. He was married on March 12, 1923 to Helen M. Manning, in Paw Paw, who preceded him in death on June 12, 1973.
Mr. Adams was formerly a farmer in Porter Township up until 1975 when he moved the the Upjohn Nursing Home in Kalamazoo.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Mrs. Phillip (June) Powell of Kalamazoo; 1 son, Gerald L. Adams (Marilyn) of Florida; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Mrs. Clara Price of Kalamazoo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28th in the Marcellus Cemetery with Pastor Kennith I. Kline of the Marcellus and Wakelee United Methodist Churches officiating. Family members received friends on Friday afternoon and evening at the Romig Funeral Home in Marcellus.
