Toby Norman Nemmers

"Toby" Norman Nemmers, 81, of Arma died at 8 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2008 at his home.

Toby was born November 14, 1927 at Williston, North Dakota the son of A.P. "Eddie" and Christine Skogen Nemmers.

Toby was the founder-owner-operator of Toby's Amusements in Arma.

He was raised in Williston, North Dakota and attended Williston Schools. He moved to Arma in 1953 and had been a longtime Arma resident.

Toby married Erma L. Triplett on June 26, 1953 at St. Joseph, Missouri. Mrs. Nemmers preceded hiim in death September 8, 2006.

Toby was a veteran of World War II serving in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Arma United Methodist Church, a fifty year member of the Arma Masonic Lodge, the Ft. Scott Scottish Rites, the Mirza Shrine, Showmans Shrine of America-Egypt Temple, Hall of Fame-Kansas Fairs and Festivals Association, Past-President and lifetime member of Hot Springs Showmans Club, Showmans League of America, Outdoor Amusement Business Association, and the IAAPA.

Survivors include a daughter, Sabrina Nemmers of Arma, four grandchildren, Daniel Yarnell and his wife Angela of Arma, Heather Morris and her husband Colton of Whitehall, Montana, Ashley Yarnell of Arma, and Matthew Blunt of Arma, a sister, Roseanna Lipasek and her husband Lynn of Houston, Texas, two nephews, Chris and Timmy Lipasek of Texas, eight great grandchildren, Dallas Hendricks, Zachary Yarnell, Justice Morris, Mackenzee Yarnell, William Morris, Reagan Yarnell, Hailee Brown, and McCarten Tobi Yarnell, a step-son, David Kralicek of Arma, and two step-grandchildren, Heidi and Holly Kralicek and several other nieces and nephews. Toby was preceded in death by his wife, Erma, parents, step-mother, Juanita "Bobbi" Nemmers, and a brother, Lowell Nemmers.

The family suggests memorials to the Mirza Shrine Transportation Fund. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
